EXPOSITION ABOUT
THE THEORY OF « EVENTALISM »
A NEW SCIENCE OF HISTORY BY EVENTS AND
A TOOL FOR STATESMEN
____
1- PRELIMINARY EXPLANATIONS
Eventalism is in the first place a new
method of analyzing Nation’s Histories through the examination
of important occurrences : wars, conquests, victories, defeats,
alliances, treaties, etc... Secondly, Eventalism is a theory
by which these occurrences are linked together by means of a
logic which both explains the causes of past events and predicts
the happening of future occurrences !
According to Eventalism, the primary
causes of past historical events have nothing to do with the
political, economical and social explanations or interpretations
given by classical historians. While these explanations are
both realistic and legitimate; they are nothing but the consequences
of the primary causes, as are the events themselves : they «
pave the way » for the happening of the said events.
These primary causes of Nation’s
Histories reside in Laws which may be qualified as physical
in the larger sense of the term. These Laws impose a potential
determinism on Nations, which governs their foundation,
their conflicts, their apogee and their demise.
This determinism can be compared to
that which obliges each and every man, once born, to grow up,
to grow old and to die. It is a framework within which is found
a field of freedom of action and of freewill . As such,
Man is relatively free to live his life as he wishes, within
the temporal limits of this life. The same holds true for Nations,
which within the framework of their predetermined timeline,
are potentially free to modulate their History through the governmental
decisions they make.
The analogy between Man and Nation ends there;
as all men are programmed for lifespans that are more or less
equal, and all Nations are not. In effect, the foundation and
duration of Nations are subject to a cyclical Law of analogous
rebirth between themselves. This Law has been recognized by
philosophers of both ancient and medieval times as well as those
of the last century : the « modulo temporal » (period)
of renewal is correlated to the astronomical phenomena of «
equinoctial precession », equal to about 1/12 of this,
approximately every 2 160 years.
